Homemade laundry detergent recipe - Rampal Latour

For 1L of laundry detergent

  • 1L of tap water
  • 20g of Marseille soap flakes
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 10 to 15 drops of true lavender, eucalyptus or lemon essential oil
  • 1 old laundry detergent container of at least 1.5 L

Mathieu's Home Laundry Detergent

In the photo, I poured the laundry detergent into a ramekin; I personally store it in a black glass bottle, the kind used for olive oil, for better preservation over time.

Ingredients for 2.5L of laundry detergent:

  • 100g of Marseille soap flakes ( depending on the soap you use, the color of the laundry detergent will change, and that's normal! )
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 tbsp washing soda
  • 2L of water

REALIZATION:

  1. Heat the water in a saucepan and add the soap flakes; ( some flakes on the site have a scent, which makes the laundry smell even nicer every day! )
  2. Mix until boiling and all the chips are melted;
  3. Remove from heat and, once the mixture has cooled slightly, add the washing soda crystals and baking soda;
  4. Allow to cool, stirring occasionally;
  5. Pour the mixture into its container and it's ready.

PS : The container can be a beverage dispenser, it's more convenient for serving yourself!

Note for each wash:

  • 1/2 glass of laundry detergent per load ( adjust according to the size of the machine, of course )
  • For tough stains, pre-treat them with white Marseille soap, and if the stain persists, place the garment in the sun after washing; the sun is also a stain remover, so don't forget that!
  • Always combine with fabric softener and white vinegar for best results.

Homemade laundry detergent recipe - Rampal Latour

My homemade laundry detergent recipe

Today I'm taking part in the challenge by sharing my laundry detergent recipe with you. Tried and tested for over 10 years.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 20g of baking soda
  • 20g of soda crystals
  • 40g of soap flakes ( Rampal Latour's, of course! )

And that's all!

The original recipe called for 2g of essential oil for fragrance, but the strongest essential oils are also the ones most likely to stain clothes, so I don't use them. My laundry detergent is therefore fragrance-free.

PREPARATION :

  1. In a glass jar, layer the 3 ingredients;
  2. When needed, melt the mixture in 550 ml of water over low heat. ( Be careful not to stir too vigorously to avoid boiling over.)
  3. When the mixture is smooth, let it cool;
  4. Pour into the container of your choice;
  5. Shake before use.

Personally, I prepare a new jar as soon as I melt one, so the preparation is ready quickly.
